Hello to you!
I have half my family living in Stanoz, near Ankara. Many of the villagers went to Turkey and were arrested in Marseille, France, after taking the boat. An important part of the village Stanoz moved to Paris, specifically in the town of Issy les Moulineaux and Clamart. A report on French television has been devoted to Stanoz village, where there is only one river, and tombstones stone written in Armenian. But otherwise, there remains nothing else.
We must be distant cousins because we all come from this village.
That's what I know about Stanoz!

Hello Samuel and Franck.
I'm glad of reading your post. Sorry I didn't receive any notification about and that's why I'm writing so late.
My family was from Stanos a little village located to 30 km of West Ankara. Some months ago I left a comment if you want to read:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=364#p914

Most survivors from Stanos emigrated to France and USA. Just a few (like my grandparents) arrived to Argentina, where I was born. Is not common to find people from Stanos here to me.
I know I have family in France.
I suppose is not possible to find more information about our family, but dont lose my faith!
Thank you very much for your comments, I'm glad of finding some "cousins" in the other side of the world.
Hope to keep in touch with you, guys.

Ana

Ä°stanos has been renamed as Zir
It is a valley approx 6 kms west of ankara, due to landslide , ppl abondened Zir and settled nearby. This place is called Yenikent.
A few years ago, there were excavations in Zir made by police to uncover weapons and bombs hid by ultra nationalist gang (Ergenekon). Area was famous for pears, Angora goats and faiy chimmney like geologic formations. Some newspapers wrote that there is a Armenian family still living (Kevork Balaban(ian)) in Yenikent.

When we are in the school some main points i remember about it that Santos has been active in the energy business for more than 50 years. Its name was an acronym for South Australia Northern Territory Oil Search. Now Santos had become a major Australian operating enterprise with interests in United States and United Kingdom petroleum provinces and in emerging areas such as the Timor Sea and Carnarvon Basin in Western Australia.A number of acquisitions in the 1990s provided Santos with additional opportunities onshore and offshore Australia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.

Our all family will be happy to find a few things in the Ankara geared towards kids and families. The city is home to seveal beautiful and well-kept parks, with at least one in every major section of the city. One of the city's largest is Glenclick Park which has a large boating lake and an amusement park. Kurtulus Park has an ice skating rink, and several others feature ponds with swans and botanical gardens. Ankara's parks are free to the public.

The most important Phrygian sites in Anatolia are to be found in the provinces of Ankara, Eskisehir and Afyon. Yassihoyuk (Gordion) was the capital of Phrygia and the place were Alexander the Great cut the Gordion Knot to gain the key to Asia. The tumulus of King Midas, who turned whatever he touched to gold, can be visited here. Nearby, the remains of the ancient city Gordion, still under excavation, and a small museum are worth a quick tour.Off the same Ankara-Eskisehir road is Ballihisar (Pessinus), an important Phrygian religious cult center. The most important remains are those of a temple to Cybele, the mother goddess whose worship was at the heart of the Phrygian culture. The small open air museum has some interesting sculptures and tombstones.

The oldest settlements in and around the city center of Ankara belong to the Hatti civilization which thrived during the Bronze Age. The city significantly grew in size and importance under the Phrygians starting from around 1000 BC, experiencing a large expansion following the mass migration from Gordion, the capital of Phrygia, after an earthquake which severely damaged that city in antiquity.

In Phrygian tradition, King Midas was venerated as the founder of Ancyra, but Pausanias mentions that the city was actually far older, in line with the present-day knowledge that we have on its history.[1] There is the possibility that at the time Midas came the city was eseentially unpopulated. In the same way by modern standards it could be argued that Ankara did not exist before Atatürk moved the capital of Turkey to the city, since its population before the capital came was almost non-existent in comparison to what it would be in following years.Silver bullion

Ankara is one of the world's oldest capital cities, having been a major urban center, though not a capital, for far longer than cities like London, Paris or Madrid; even Istanbul. When present Istanbul, then the Roman provincial town of Byzantium, was being groomed as a new capital for the Roman Empire in 324, Ankara was already an important administrative center from which most of the northern half of Turkey was run.Audio Mastering Services |Music Mastering Services

Ancyra's importance rested on the fact was that it was the junction point where the roads in northern Anatolia running north-south and east-west intersected. The great imperial road running east passed through Ankara and a succession of emperors and their armies came this wayPenny Auctions|Penny Auction Site
